More Than a Country Store

Colvin Country Store didn't begin with a business plan.

It began with a family searching for a different way to live.

Seven years ago, we stepped away from the security of corporate careers with one goal in mind: to become the greatest influence in our children's lives. We weren't looking to start a farm. We simply wanted to build a life centered around faith, family, and meaningful work together.

We had no idea where that decision would lead.

It All Started With One Baby Goat

One cold winter day, someone handed us a baby goat in a cardboard box.

We had no pens. No experience. Not even goat milk to feed her.

What began as one frantic afternoon quickly became the beginning of an entirely new life.

As our confidence grew, so did our farm. Goats led to sheep. Sheep led to pigs, chickens, ducks, gardens, and eventually a stubborn milk cow who made sure we stayed humble. Every season taught us something new. Most lessons came through mistakes, long days, and more than a few moments of wondering what we'd gotten ourselves into.

Looking back, we wouldn't trade any of it.

Learning to Build What We Couldn't Find

As our family learned to raise animals and grow food, we also taught ourselves new skills in the kitchen.

We learned to bake fresh-milled sourdough from scratch, preserve food, and appreciate meals made from simple ingredients. Every loaf of bread, every garden harvest, and every family dinner reminded us that good food has a way of bringing people together.

Then came COVID, wildfires, and the uncertainty that so many families experienced.

Those years changed the way we looked at food.

We realized how difficult it had become to find products we truly trusted, and we discovered we weren't the only family asking those questions.

Why We Opened Colvin Country Store

What began as providing food for our own family slowly grew into serving our community.

Friends started asking where we found our food.

Neighbors wanted the same bread we were baking.

Families wanted to know where they could buy meat raised with care, local honey, fresh eggs, and pantry staples without spending hours reading ingredient labels.

Colvin Country Store was created to be that place.
